Join a Winooski Community Partnership
Committee!
WCP consists of a Board of
Directors and four committees. Each committee has a special charge for a
portion of the WCP mission and Downtown project work. The committees are
made up of volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved, please
contact Trevor Squirrell, WCP Director, at
tsquirre@sover.net or
802-655-6435.
The four committees are:
Design - Are you interested in the aesthetics, beauty and
architecture of Downtown Winooski? Want to have a hands-on effect upon the
physical infrastructure of the Downtown and how it looks? The Design
Committee works on enhancing the physical appearance of Downtown Winooski
by encouraging and facilitating new construction, the rehabilitation of
historic buildings, signage and markers, beautification, and long-term
planning
Economic Development - Would you like to take part in what
Downtown Winooski has to offer? Would you like to encourage businesses to
locate here and to assist existing businesses? Or do you just hate the
sight of empty storefronts? The Economic Development Committee works to
strengthen Downtown Winooski's existing economic base while finding ways
to expand it to meet new opportunities
Downtown Promotion - Do you want to get the word out about
Downtown Winooski? Do you love the sight of full parking spaces and people
walking up and down the sidewalks and the RiverWalk? Do you want to take
part in fun Downtown events? The Downtown Promotion Committee's mission is
simple: get people to come Downtown. This committee is in charge of
marketing efforts and Downtown events.
WCP Organization - Are you interested in the longevity of
these Downtown efforts? Do you want to grow the Downtown community and
membership? The Organization Committee is entrusted with the
sustainability of WCP and its work, building consensus and cooperation
among the many groups and individuals who have a role in the process.
WCP Board of Directors - The WCP Board is made up of 9
members and provides oversight for ALL WCP activities. If you're
interested in getting on board, there's no better time to start attending
our meetings! Or you may just want to attend to stay informed and
contribute input. Meetings are normally the second Wednesday of the month
at 8:30am at Winooski City Hall. Contact Trevor Squirrell for details. |
